Another article I found this post by my friend Rudolph Valentino fan page and I thought it was perfect to put here since this is a page all about Jon Erik Hexum.  Thanks RudolphValentinofanpage for letting me re post it and for writing it. Jon-Erik Hexum, My video tribute.. In the early 1980s Jon-Erik was seen as the "next big thing", and then tragically he was dead from an accident via a self-inflicted gunshot wound playing with a prop gun on the set of 'Cover Up". One week later on October 18th, he was taken off life support and pronounced dead. However, Hexum's commitment to organ donation, meant five other lives were assisted or saved with organs harvested from him. He was dead at only 26 years of age. He's still my favorite! Some I had forgotten about. Included is  Jon-Erik Hexum: (November 5, 1957 – October 18, 1984) Hexum allegedly turned down plenty of opportunities to appear in shows such as "The Dukes of Hazzard" (1979) & "CHiPs" (1977) and many day time soap operas before finally making his debut in the TV series "Voyagers!" (1982) as time traveler Phineas Bogg. He was then cast as hunk Tyler Burnett alongside Joan Collins in Making of a Male Model (1983) (TV), and then as ex-Green Beret, Mac Harper in the TV series Cover Up (1984) (TV). However, on October 12th, 1984 after a long and draining day's shooting on the set of Cover Up (1984) (TV), Hexum became bored with the extensive delays and jokingly put a prop .44 magnum revolver to his temple and pulled the trigger. The gun fired, and the wadding from the blank cartridge shattered his skull, whereupon the mortally injured Hexum was rushed via ambulance to hospital to undergo extensive surgery. Despite five hours of work, the chief surgeon Dr David Ditsworth, described the damage to Hexum's brain as life ending, and one week later on October 18th, he was taken off life support and pronounced dead. However, Hexum's commitment to organ donation, meant five other lives were assisted or saved with organs harvested from him. Personal Information:

"I worry about not being a great actor. I'd hate to die young and never have made Grapes of Wrath. Life goes by so fast...I just don't want to miss out on anything." Jon-Erik Hexum (November 5, 1957 – October 18, 1984) was an American actor and model, best known for accidentally killing himself on the set of a television series in which he was a central cast member. Born to Norwegian immigrant parents, he was the star of the science fiction series Voyagers!, which aired on NBC during the 1982–83 television season. He also appeared in made for television movies The Bear and Making of a Male Model co-starring Joan Collins and Roxie Roker, and in an episode of Hotel, before being cast in the action series Cover Up. After graduating from high school, where he proved to be a versatile pianist, actor in school plays and the school’s first male cheerleader, Hexum went on to the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland in order to study biomedical engineering. However, he soon gave it up and switched to the Michigan State University in East Lansing, where he graduated in Philosophy. During that time, he worked as a radio disc jockey and actor in minor stage roles. He was also an accomplished diver. Only a few days after graduation, he moved to New York in 1980 in order to pursue his acting career. While working cleaning venetian blinds in offices, he met Bob LeMond of LeMond/Zetter Management, the manager of John Travolta, who saw great potential in Hexum. LeMond asked him to move to Los Angeles in 1981 in order to audition for a movie called Summer Lovers, directed by Randal Kleiser. Even though Jon-Erik lost the part to Peter Gallagher, he was soon cast as the lead in the upcoming NBC TV show Voyagers! (read less)

Introduction post

This is my very first time doing a tribute to anyone so please be bear with me.  This blog is dedicated to the memory of actor/model Jon erik Hexum.  For those of you who don't know him he starred in the short lived series show called Voyagers and then he did the making of a male model with Joan Collins and the last project he did was Cover up and unfortunately that is when he died.  How he died I will post about later but I want this blog to be a celebration about his work as an actor and model.  Anyway this blog is going to consist of videos, articles, pictures and anything else pertaining to Jon Erik Hexum.  Any and all comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
